Listen to My Lady’s Story Chapter 93

The ex-butler is being desperately relied on

"Now, let's see how much Crow knows about the history of this country."

The castle grounds are vast, and walking takes time. Like in the kingdom, we use magical vehicles instead of carriages for transportation.

As I ride in the car driven by the escort, Luke, and sit in the back seat, I pay attention to Dietrich's words as the car sways.

"I've heard that the second prince, who lost in the succession dispute in the old Farland Kingdom, fled with his followers and founded a country in the harsh northern land."

"Yeah, that's about right. They faced the tough environment of this land after escaping. In the past, the kingdom was quite turbulent, with power struggles causing the country to split multiple times."

Especially in succession disputes, it turned into a country-dividing struggle, and the winner faced a tough reality in exchange for glory, awaiting the defeated.

The surviving members of the second prince and his faction managed to escape pursuers, crossed the border mountains, and came to the barren northern land of the continent, barely clinging to life.

"Fortunately, the magical energy flowing through the ley lines isn't scarce, thanks to the nearby Enchanted Forest. Using this magic, people created a basic survival environment, but that was the limit. In this tough setting, there was no room for distinctions between nobility and commoners, so they collaborated to develop the country."

Magic originates from the Magic Forest in the east and spreads throughout the land via ley lines. Although not as abundant as in the kingdom, cultivating the once barren northern lands was still a challenge.

In the empire, where magic and resources were scarce compared to the kingdom, nobles and commoners had to collaborate to survive. It became a country where even commoners could rise in a meritocratic system, unlike the kingdom's one-sided nobility-commoner relationship.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 55

Reincarnated Elf (??), Discovering the Mentor's Role as Clan Leader

A week had passed since Lulu, the girl bedridden by illness, had recovered.

"Please come again! I'll be waiting forever!"

"Thank you, Mister Reese!"

Lulu, now full of energy compared to when we first met, and her sister Kikka bid farewell. In just a week, I had become unexpectedly close to the village.

"I will surely repay this favor and pass it on to the next generation."

The village chief deeply bowed his head and expressed his gratitude.

Next generation... The chief probably realized that he might not live to see me again.

In my 200 years as an Elf, I had lost track of even my recent age. Time's flow had made me increasingly oblivious.

"When I'm near again, I'll be sure to visit."

As I waved goodbye, Lulu and Kikka, even in their real ages, looked much younger than they were.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 54

Reincarnated Elf (??), Following the Mentor's Path

The girl lay on a small bed, breathing heavily, her vacant eyes staring blankly. Her shoulder-length golden hair clung damply to her neck, and she was soaked in sweat. Lips pale blue, she clutched a withered wooden twig in each hand, holding onto them as if they were precious. It seemed she had been bedridden due to illness for quite some time, and if help had arrived a bit later, it might have been too late.

"I'm Reese Klein, the top disciple of Lahab. Don't worry; I won't do anything bad. Just stay still," I reassured her.

Seemingly relieved by my words, the tension in the girl's body eased a bit.

"Advanced healing magic, Goddess's Breath: Twilight Doll," I incanted, summoning the healing goddess behind me. The goddess kissed the ailing girl, extracting the malevolent elements from her body. A faint green light enveloped the girl, gradually dissipating the illness.

Her previously labored breathing eased a bit. Witnessing the improvement, the older sister at the bedside, Kikka, looked at me with concern.

"Mister Reese, is Lulu getting better?"

"The goddess has absorbed all the bad things from your sister. If she rests a bit more, she'll recover. You did well bringing her here," I assured.

"Thank goodness," Kikka sighed, her shoulders relaxing. She collapsed onto the bed as if her energy had been depleted.

Approaching from behind, an elderly man who had been observing the treatment spoke.

"I never thought I'd come across elves twice in my lifetime. Thank you so much, Sir Reese. I won't forget this kindness as the village chief."

Reincarnated Elf Epilogue 4

Epilogue 4: 67 Years After Defeating the Demon King

54 years after defeating the Demon King, Jin Fritz passed away.

The death of the "Hero" sent shockwaves not only through the Kingdom but across the entire world. Newspapers delivered by the magical messenger bird, Messeltaope, had been reporting about Jin for a whole year. During this time, foolish youngsters, aspiring to become the next hero, started recklessly venturing into the forest, emboldened by the catchphrase "Like a hero!" Their careless actions only provoked the magical beasts in the forest.

Consequently, my workload increased a bit.

58 years after the Demon King's defeat, Vais Garlanda passed away.

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Grilette, who halted the invasion of magical beasts, and Galius, who repelled the Demon King's army, Vais gained fame as a political figure primarily focused on talent development and fostering diplomatic relations within the Kingdom.

Around this time, communication through magical messenger bird Messeltaope, originating from the Kukule Fortress, ceased. However, by then, I had stopped visiting the fortress altogether.

I would extract provisions from the subspace my father provided, eat, gaze at the branches of Yggdrasil for a while, and then go to sleep. Despite having no specific reasons, a hole seemed to have opened in my heart several years ago, and it hadn't closed.

"Everyone seems to leave first, huh..."

Luckily, Yggdrasil's branches had grown significantly, enhancing the barrier's capabilities. Unless something extraordinary happened, it was unlikely that humans would find me. There were no significant threats, no signs of disturbance. I still had plenty of magical tomes brought back from the demon realm. It's not like there was nothing to do, but...

Reincarnated Elf Epilogue 3

Epilogue 3: 52 Years After Defeating the Demon King

The world entered an era of unprecedented peace. The annual decline in magical beasts and increasing cross-border movement of people between nations were signs of this newfound tranquility.

The Hero Party, the Hopeful Travelers Lagridge, accomplished their mission and disbanded 25 years after the Demon King's defeat. Just before their separation, party members, excluding Lahab, made a special visit to our residence.

During this period, Jin introduced us to a son born to one of the party members. They likely lead a serene life in some quiet village.

38 years post the Demon King's defeat, Galius, the current lord of Kukre Fortress, passed away. Honored for his role in defending the nation alongside his father, Grillet Garlanda, a grand funeral was held.

Upon receiving an invitation from Weiss, Galius's successor, I descended to the fortress. The overwhelming number of attendees surprised me. Eventually, I found solace in having a drink with Weiss, listening to his stories in front of the combined graves of Grillet, Silfa, and Galius, rather than amid the bustling crowd.

Weiss continued to understand and support us, ensuring our lives remained peaceful, with Minori's swordsmanship dojo and the Yggdrasil branch hut.

Over 30 years, Minori, as the head instructor, produced numerous skilled magic swordsmen. Dedicated to a lifelong commitment, she frequented the dojo regardless of the weather.

I promptly healed any minor injuries or illnesses Minori faced. Thanks to my supreme healing magic, she never endured suffering for more than ten minutes.

However, 52 years after defeating the Demon King...

At last, that day was on the verge of arriving.

Reincarnated Elf Epilogue 2

Epilogue 2: Six Years After Defeating the Demon King

Minori and I couldn't have children.

Despite numerous historical accounts of crossbreeding between different species, none were successful. Additionally, there was no magic in this world capable of determining the life or death of unborn beings at their core.

Reflecting on it, even magical elements like "Reincarnation" and "Isekai Rebirth," which influenced the essence of life, were distinct from regular magic.

Living organisms have an instinct to leave proof of their existence by ensuring the continuation of their lineage. Minori chose to leave her "Living Proof" by spreading the swordsmanship she had developed at the cost of her own life.

"You don't need formal permission, but it's a great idea. I'll support you. Have you already picked a location?"

"Yes! While shopping in the fortress earlier, Lord Garius suggested a vacant piece of land."

Minori indicated a specific area on the fortress map.

"I understand. If you've chosen this place, she'd probably be delighted in heaven."

It was the former site of a popular cafeteria operated by Mrs. Silfa, Mr. Grierret's wife.

"If I pass away, feel free to use the cafeteria as you see fit, Minori. Use it when you've achieved your goals. I'll inform Garius too."

In the past, Mrs. Silfa had left this testament to Minori. Despite the high cost of owning land in the fortress, a crucial defense stronghold and source of interaction with other nations, Garius, following Mrs. Silfa's wishes, preserved the land without alterations.

 A small birthday party

The next morning, Father wasn't present at the breakfast table. It seemed he returned early.

Both my brother and I couldn't see Father off, which was a bit disappointing. However, my mood lifted when my brother suggested, 'Let's have Lucienne's birthday party in the afternoon' during breakfast. It wasn't going to be extravagant—just bringing cake and sweets to my room for a slightly luxurious tea time. A larger celebration might make me uncomfortable and feel burdensome, so this seemed just right.

Although my proposal for staying up late and chatting was rejected by Lulu.

"Lucy is forbidden from staying up late~. Proper sleep is essential for growing up and good for your health, you know?"

To this remark from Lulu, my brother surprisingly backed down easily.

Hmm, what's with that?

While I do want to get along well with my brother, he seems to dote on me a lot. Lulu is fond of me, too, treating me like a kitten, but my brother, being an only child until now, may be genuinely happy to have a sister.

"No studying in the afternoon, okay?"

I nodded in agreement to my brother's words.

* * * * *

And in the afternoon, my brother arrived with a few maids. He gave them instructions, and they swiftly set up the room. Adorable curtains hung from the ceiling, and vases with colorful flowers decorated the room. The table was filled with irresistibly cute sweets and cakes.

 Family

It's been about three weeks since I arrived at the mansion.

On this particular day, I felt a bit uneasy from the morning.

It appears that the master of the mansion, the new king and my stepfather, is expected to return today.

Though I haven't specifically prepared for this day, I've learned various things from Lulu—writing, table manners, and common etiquette. I feel like I should be fine, even though I can't quite put into words why.

As long as I don't make any major mistakes, I shouldn't be disliked by my new father.

In the morning, Linnea and Melty, who came to my room, briefed me about the day.

While the mansion is meticulously cleaned every day by the servants, there was an extra thorough cleaning today, and dinner was planned to be a bit more luxurious than usual.

...Though it's already quite lavish.

Until now, I had been managing in my own room, but tonight's dinner would be in the dining hall with my older brother and stepfather.

...Stepfather...

I briefly met him during the coup, and he resembled my older brother.

"Now, Princess, today will be busy with preparations," said Linnea, and after taking a short break after lunch, I took a bath for grooming.

 Simple happiness

The next day brought a change to my meals. Instead of the usual milk and bread concoctions, breakfast now featured a variety of dishes – a small oval-shaped bread, a handful of finely cut bacon slices, something akin to mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, sliced sausages, a vibrant salad, a soup brimming with diverse ingredients, and warm milk to wash it all down.

It seemed like a daunting task to finish everything, and Linnea and the others appeared to understand.

"You can eat whatever you like. No need to force yourself to finish everything. The head chef will keep an eye on your preferences and portion size," Linnea explained.

Was it acceptable to leave some? I pondered.

"Yes. The head chef will observe your eating habits and preferences," she replied.

Surveying the spread, I noticed forks and spoons neatly placed on either side, with the aroma of warm dishes filling the air.

I started with a few sips of milk. Then, grasping a fork with uncertainty, I attempted to pierce a sausage.

"Eating this might be a bit tricky."

Taking a bite, the sausage's skin crisped satisfyingly, and its juices flooded my mouth.

"Delicious!"

I instinctively turned to Lulu.

Brother and Sister and the Language of Flowers

"Lucienne, huh?"

The next day, my brother arrived for our afternoon tea, and his eyes widened at the sight of me.

"Yes, is something wrong...?"

The dress that had arrived yesterday evening was cute. It was a light pale red one-piece dress, loosely fitted, adorned with frills on the collar, sleeves, and hem. Apart from the ribbons extending from the chest to the waist, it was simple overall.

It seemed slightly oversized, probably to ensure it would fit even if they weren't sure about my body size when they prepared it. A gift from my adoptive father, the former Marquis Fayette, when he decided to take me in.

This room, my nightwear, and this dress—all hastily prepared.

Thinking about it warmed my heart.

...Though I did check myself in the mirror several times just in case.

My brother shook his head in response to my question.

"No, I was just a bit surprised. It suits you well."

He sat on the opposite side of the table, and a soft smile played on his lips.

Seeing that the smile was genuine, I couldn't help but let a faint smile appear on my face as well.

Akuyaku no Oujo ni Tensei Shitakedo Volume 2 Chapter 1

 The events so far

It's been a few days since Lulu took me out of the palace.

I'm still struggling to grasp the reality of it all.

I'm Lucienne La Vérie, the result of a king's involvement with a maid, supposedly the third princess. Yet, my life has been marred by constant mistreatment.

One day, the memories of my past life hit me like a truck.

I realized that I was the villainous princess from an otome game I loved in my previous life.

Then came Lulu.

She's a hidden character from the game's fan disc, an assassin.

I don't know much else about her, but she was the one who extended a helping hand.

She provided me with food, took care of me, and remained by my side when I had no one else.

Later on, the coup led by Marquis Fayette succeeded, and I was rescued from the palace. I became an adopted member of the new royal family—the Fayette family.

It's there that I encountered a boy who would become my brother, just like in the game's original story.

Aristide Loire Fayette.

Reincarnated Elf Epilogue 1

Epilogue 1: Three Years After Defeating the Demon King

As the miasmic space cleared, I found everyone gathered around Minori, engrossed in conversation. Despite an air of embarrassment, the unapproachable atmosphere from before had vanished.

"Minori has really grown, huh?"

I couldn't help but smile at the scene.

Then, a group ran toward Jin, seemingly oblivious to Minori.

"Jin! Great job! You finally did it! I would've held a grudge if you died!"

"Jin, thank you! You did it, and you're not even injured. To Lady Lahab—"

—They were Jin's new companions. That was good.

But what surprised me was Lahab waving behind them.

"Teacher Lahab!? Why are you here!?"

"Well, while wandering around casually, I stumbled upon an interesting party that sees you as their mentor. So, I decided to join for some entertainment."

"Why didn't you say so if you were nearby for fun!?"

"Well, it seemed interesting. Honestly, these three years were quite entertaining, Master Reese."

"Ugh...!?"

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 53

The girl without a name now reveals her identity

A sudden flash.

Outside the tainted air, a red-haired woman dashed through the battlefield, leaving fiery trails with each swing of her sword.

"Wow... handling this alone—"

With each swing, demons fell, and magical beasts were incinerated, creating a path of flames.

In the midst of her impressive display, fortress soldiers finally found a strategy after a long battle.

Amidst this, Ravie, the gatekeeper of Kukule Fortress, raised his shield, intercepting magical attacks to create a barrier for the girl.

"Create a barrier so the girl can strike! We can at least block the magical beasts' sight. We've guarded this fortress for 20 years; let's show our strength! Stand firm!"

"Oooooooohhh!!!"

With a cry, soldiers endured attacks with remaining strength.

Magical beasts disappeared one by one. All magical creatures were down, except Gurgea.

The battlefield became a unified front.

Everyone supported Minori, who tirelessly cut down magical beasts.

Listen to My Lady’s Story Chapter 92

The former lady of the duke is being invited

 "It suits you very well."

"Flattery won't do... That's why I didn't want to wear it."

Norman complimented me as I got ready to head to the royal castle in my room, but those words now seemed more like sarcasm.

Upon seeing my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help but sigh.

I was currently dressed in a jet-black military uniform prepared by my new employer in advance. Truly a costume for the occasion.

The pure white knight's attire of the kingdom was the same, but why did they always go for such flashy outfits?

...Well, considering this world is the stage for an otome game, I guess I have to accept it.

Not to mention the noble attire I wore the other day; such flashy clothes don't suit me at all.

I do miss the familiar butler uniform, but I am no longer in the position of a servant.

Wearing that now would be out of the question.

"I don't think that's the case. ...Isn't that right, Milady Isabella?"

"Huh!?"

"Well, it suits you. I think it looks fantastic."

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 52

Reincarnated Elf (110), Confronting the Demon Lord with Disciples

Doomsday magic.

It's the Demon Lord's exclusive dark attribute magic, known for its exceptionally high miasma consumption. While ordinary demons use "Destruction Magic" to shatter objects from within, the Demon Lord's "Doomsday Magic" apparently erases things from within.

I've encountered destruction magic before, but witnessing doomsday magic is a rare occurrence.

Surrounded by an enigmatic aura, everything near the creature—leaves, branches, and even insects—seems to vanish.

With a skull-like face and four horns, it exudes more eeriness than sheer power.

Even the small Yggdrasil branch in the training ground with Jin starts to show signs of being affected. The vibrant green leaves, normally resistant to miasma, wither rapidly and vanish by the time they touch the ground.

Facing such a formidable opponent for the first time, every move and action of the one claiming to be the Demon Lord is like living data.

This mastery is crucial—

"Um, Master? Master Reese—?"

As I begin to casually analyze his magic, Jin vigorously waves his hands in front of me.

Jin might be more accustomed to battlefields than I am. And unintentionally, I've done something quite cruel to Jin, who is exhausted and has completely depleted his magic.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 51

 The hero, awakens

"And here's the other reason you won't be challenging us,"

With a snap of his fingers, Uva created a distortion in the space next to him.

"The hero's sword you're looking for is this, right?"

It contained a holy power so potent that even Uva hesitated to possess it. Throughout history, heroes had wielded a sacred sword to vanquish demons and bring peace to the world—the sword they sought to fully unleash the hero's power, the Ascalon.

"700 years ago, our former Demon Lord met his demise with this short sword. It's not a product of hero magic or anything, but it possesses holy power itself. Thanks to this, you all have your expectations. Destruction magic, Galdaros' hammer of annihilation."

Unaware of what they were seeking, Uva easily shattered the sword into pieces using his magical power.

"Now, you should understand that there's no chance for you to win. Why don't we peacefully make a deal?"

Uva, who had been smiling so casually, had transformed from the earlier tense situation.

—When did he start longing to become such a cool adventurer?

I guess it all started when my mom used to read me those tales of adventurers.

Maybe it was when, by sheer luck, I took down that magical wolf, Hound Wolf, that showed up in the village, and people praised me.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 50

The hero of the next generation, tempted by whispers of a demonic contract

From the past, he had always dreamed of becoming a strong adventurer. Just like those in stories, adventurers who traveled the world, defeated magical beasts, and protected the smiles of the people were the coolest. However, he lacked the most crucial thing for an adventurer—he couldn't use magic. Being unable to wield magic, he was branded a burden many times over.

Even so, he couldn't give up on his dream.

Day by day, he trained, encountered a wise mentor, formed bonds with new companions, and embarked on numerous adventures—until finally...

●●●

Clang!

The swords clashed once again – one enveloped in the darkness of magical energy, the other radiating the light of magic. However, Uva clearly held the upper hand in this relentless duel.

"Hero magic seems to be nothing more than this. No need to bother our Demon Lord with it."

Amidst the explosive turmoil, Uva vigorously imbued his sword with magic and swung it forcefully.

"Hero, Magic Manifestation, Magic Infusion Enchantment! Overlord Sword's Blessing, Elhiraah!!"

Light once again surged from Jin's sword. Despite the repeated attempts to nullify it, the sacred light persisted, gently enveloping Jin's body in protection.

Uva and Jin found themselves surrounded by the densest miasma in the world.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 49

The hero of the next generation, takes command

That... was undoubtedly the most intimidating presence Jin and his party had ever encountered.

The pair of horns on its head were darker than any other demon they had faced.

As the long, dark-red hair fluttered in the wind, even the surrounding air seemed to sway with an aura of miasma.

With a nonchalant gaze, the creature's crimson eyes pierced through, and it raised its hand.

"Instant teleportation magic array deployment, the march of demons, Lafest."

As Uva spread his hand, a large black hole appeared behind him.

"Gyagyagya...!!" "Uvaaaaaa!!" "Aoooon!!"

With deafening cries, a new horde of magical beasts appeared alongside demonic entities, clad in black cloaks, presumably under the direct command of the Demon King's army.

Uva glanced at the newly arrived forces and muttered in disappointment.

"Fewer numbers than planned. I explicitly instructed to gather all forces from the entire demon realm. Gurgea Zoringer."

Standing next to Uva, a muscular demon exuded a nostalgic magical power from every joint.

"Hah. It seems personnel are lacking everywhere. Demon resources are quite scarce. Please understand. I will accept any punishment."

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 48

The hero of the next generation, meets up with the fortress lord

The Vastela expedition this time is marked by the absence of the Demon Lord and the emergence of a core figure among the current demon race, the one who forced my father, the "God of War" Griellet Garlanda, into retirement.

On the eve of the decisive battle, Jin was invited by Lord Garius to Kukule Fortress, where he learned about the most critical figure in this conflict.

This figure, the "God of War," had guarded Kukule Fortress for twenty years and was known for being so formidable that he seemed untouchable.

He had the ability to control the will of magical beasts and demons who followed him.

Furthermore, he was considered a crucial figure, holding the key to the revival of the Demon Lord.

"The cunning demon, Uva Karma. If we don't defeat him, the crisis of Kukule Fortress and the fear of the Demon Lord's resurrection will not end. The miasma is spreading, affecting not only Kukule Fortress but far beyond. People are naturally drawn to tales of a hero who defies magical odds."

As the miasma thickens, life withers, and magical beasts grow more ferocious. The number of adventurers is insufficient to handle the increasing magical beast incidents.

In this dire situation, Jin and his companions, adept at magic effective against magical beasts, emerge.

The people turn to them, referring to Jin's effective magic as "Hero Magic."

While demons anticipate the return of the "Demon King," humanity eagerly awaits the emergence of the "Hero" from ancient legends who supposedly defeated the Demon King.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 47

The hero of the next generation, arrives at the destined place

Two swift years had passed since the formation of the adventurer party 'Hopeful Travelers Raglirge,' propelling them to an unexpected Rank A status. The party found themselves inundated with requests, with even Lord Garius Garlanda of Kukule Fortress extending direct invitations.

For their latest assignment, the party ventured into the Vastela Forest. This locale held special significance for Jin, marking the place where he, once known as 'Crosenar,' had completed his final mission.

"I owe my life to Master Reese here," Jin reminisced, leading the party, accompanied by Vritra soaring beside him.

Yet, the expressions of those following were less sanguine. The desolation of the land, marred by miasma, hinted at the presence of aggressive magical beasts.

"This doesn't seem like a place where wild creatures can live anymore. It might be harsh for an elf with low miasma resistance," Raidon commented, observing the duo trailing behind.

Offering reassurance, Lahab had prepared water infused with purifying magical power for the party. Anastasia, Lahab's second disciple, chimed in, "Lady Lahab will protect you under the name of her second disciple. Every ten minutes or so, we can perform body purification with a combination of her water magic and my healing magic."

"Alright, that should be fine," Jin nodded.

However, the party's concerns were short-lived. Deeper into the forest, a denser miasma vortex emerged. Numerous magical entities, each a concentration of power, stirred busily, and then...

"Guuuaaaaah! Grraaahhh! Vaaaahhh!"

Various formidable magical beasts, concealed in different directions, simultaneously attacked the party.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 46

The hero of the next generation, forming a party

"Mission accomplished. With this, the D-rank party 'Hopeful Travelers Lagridge' has been officially recognized as a C-rank adventurer party! Congratulations!"

Three months had passed since the two formed a party. Raidon and Jin received the proof of a C-rank adventurer party, a bronze guild button. The party, starting from the lowest rank, had advanced to C-rank in just over three months. Within the guild, they were beginning to be seen as an up-and-coming party.

Despite this celebratory occasion, the two sat at a corner table in the guild, their expressions far from cheerful.

Raidon, with a frustrated look, spoke while leaning on the table.

"We got promoted, but in the end, we've run into the same challenges as three months ago."

"I was so absorbed in completing missions that I didn't even think about the conditions for accepting C-rank party missions. Oops..."

With a wry smile, Jin looked down at the C-rank mission requests that they were supposed to be eligible for. There, he found:

[Required Condition: Party members with individual rank C or higher, minimum of three members.]

While nibbling on a piece of meat, Raidon sighed.

"There's no one crazy enough to want to join us after seeing us in action. We're a bizarre duo – he punches things and makes dirt, and this one here, boasting about being a legendary evil dragon, can only produce enough power to light a cigarette."

As he flicked a black shadow approaching the meat with his finger, a small dragon rolled over on the table, squeaking, "Nuoh!"

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 45

The hero of the next generation, skillfully using hero abilities.

"Hero Magic, Holy Sword Morganel Fay!" the young man's sword gleamed as he effortlessly struck down the oncoming magical beasts.

"Gyaaahhh...nggh..."

A dragon, twice the size of the young man, split in half. From the wound, black particles floated and vanished.

It was an A-rank magical beast—Golden Wolf Dragon Goldrath. A type of evil dragon rapidly spreading its territory recently. Originally, it shouldn't be in the human world; it should reside deep in the forest caves as a dragon—

"Magical beasts appearing in a rural village like this is unusual. Maybe Master Reese was right; the demon lord revival might be near...?"

Sheathing his sword, the young man turned to his new companions who were waving.

"Jin! We've exterminated all the magical beasts as instructed... any injuries? Oh no, any injuries!? Ah, we spilled all the healing potions on the way here, and we have none left...! Uh, bandages! Bandages, maybe!"

Beside Jin, a girl was flustered at the sight of injuries. And—

"The remnants on this side have been taken care of by me and Vritra. You should have Lady Lahab heal your injuries. Right, Lady Lahab?"

"If you have acorns, I can heal you."

"Ah, always looking down at my feet... Well, how about Vritra? Can't we figure something out? We're out of healing potions, you know?"

"Nuh? I'm skilled at healing by roasting."

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 44

Reincarnated Elf (108), Delving into Psychic Magic

"By the way, I find this mental contamination magic quite interesting. Though I don't fully get it, basically, you just need to channel demon-resonating magic into this crystal."

The mental contamination magic on the demon villagers shows up as a debuff in appraisal magic, but Gurgea doesn't have it.

"Hmm, I see. So far, you haven't been hit by any mental contamination magic."

I'll do a detailed appraisal magic on Gurgea.

Can't escape, can't defend, can't hide. With all three in place, I can cast magic calmly.

"Hmph, obviously. I'm no rural demon; I'm a pure demon raised in the mainland. My loyalty to the Demon Lord is unmatched. No matter what's asked, I won't show weaknesses or give in!"

Gurgea sits in seiza, tied up.

Within moments of waking up, he became more spirited. Quite a hassle.

"I see. That's reassuring to hear."

This means Gurgea isn't under any debuffs, regardless of his status.

Next, I'll carefully look at the crystal taken from Gurgea.

"Is this a magic stone?"

Near a dragon's nest in a certain country or in a miasma-filled swamp where no one can approach.

Reincarnated Elf Chapter 43

 Reincarnated Elf (108), Overwhelm

Gurgea, mounted on the battle drake, follows me into the forest. He relentlessly hurls a series of magic attacks, all of which are cast without incantation. There's no time to counter each one individually; it's quicker to evade the more straightforward spells.

"Moving around so evasively...! Your legs seem to be the only thing average about you!"

A whooshing sound accompanies a fire magic spell passing by my cheek. It's at the level of advanced magic. Nevertheless, it's surprising that he can cast such powerful spells repeatedly without depleting his magic reserves too quickly. When I appraised him earlier, the total magical power didn't seem excessively high.

"...In that case, could it be that not all that magic power belongs to Gurgea?"

I ponder while tilting my head in mid-air. To dispel such doubts, I decide to employ the ancient magic.

"Appraisal Magic × Magic Sense Magic, Mana Flow Analysis Gidacrotilus. Let me observe the movement of magic power around you from corner to corner."

Developed when the cities of humanity were attacked by magical beasts, this is a broad-range magic designed to anticipate the actions of magical beasts by analyzing the flow of mana and atmospheric fluctuations. The target is the entire forest, and I'll be observing the current flow of mana in this area.

While this magic can provide extensive insights, prolonged exposure to the high-density mana in the demon territory could lead to magic intoxication—a double-edged sword.

"Ah, I get it now. Those horns are like mana hubs."

The miasma in the air visibly transforms into magical energy, channeled through Gurgea's horns. Not all the magical power belongs to Gurgea; the concentrated mana in his horns keeps flowing throughout his body until he decides to release it. While the process follows the standard order for most magicians, there's a notable twist.
